Building a New Deck

This weekend, if weather permits, we are going to start to work on our new deck. This is a project that we have been putting off for quite some time now. It seems like it has rained every chance we have had in the past couple of months, but the weather forecaster has assured us it is not the case this coming Saturday.

The reason I am so excited about this new project is because it is Ipe Decking. For those of you who may not be familiar with Ipe, it is a very reputable wood that I consider state of the art. You won't find any wood any better than Ipe.

I have a friend who has had some Ipe Furniture for years and it doesn't look over a day old. To me, this type of wood withstands so much, and I can only be thankful that it is what our deck is going to be built from. I only wish I had some furniture made out of this wood too. As for my deck, I wanted something that can endure the rain and cold weather, and I don't have any doubts this is the type of deck that will be able to do such a thing. If you have never looked into this type of product, it is definitely worth your time and money. You won't be disappointed.

Now as for how many arguments my husband and I will have on how we are going to build this deck, I cannot guarantee. It seems we always have issues with our taste. He always wants things done his way, but I am going to stand my ground, simply because I will be the one getting the most use from this deck. There is going to be no exceptions this weekend.
