Building a New Deck

This weekend, if weather permits, we are going to start to work on our new deck. This is a project that we have been putting off for quite some time now. It seems like it has rained every chance we have had in the past couple of months, but the weather forecaster has assured us it is not the case this coming Saturday.

The reason I am so excited about this new project is because it is Ipe Decking. For those of you who may not be familiar with Ipe, it is a very reputable wood that I consider state of the art. You won't find any wood any better than Ipe.

I have a friend who has had some Ipe Furniture for years and it doesn't look over a day old. To me, this type of wood withstands so much, and I can only be thankful that it is what our deck is going to be built from. I only wish I had some furniture made out of this wood too. As for my deck, I wanted something that can endure the rain and cold weather, and I don't have any doubts this is the type of deck that will be able to do such a thing. If you have never looked into this type of product, it is definitely worth your time and money. You won't be disappointed.

Now as for how many arguments my husband and I will have on how we are going to build this deck, I cannot guarantee. It seems we always have issues with our taste. He always wants things done his way, but I am going to stand my ground, simply because I will be the one getting the most use from this deck. There is going to be no exceptions this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.

I Want The New Keyless Lock

Have you heard about the latest way to get in your house? It's the new keyless lock. Yes, you read that right. Can you imagine not ever having to keep up with your house keys again? It only takes your finger print. You can program it to recognize your and your families finger print, and the door unlocks. Isn't that amazing?

Not only that, but do you ever go out of town and need someone to feed your animals or gather you mail? Well the keyless lock is perfect for that too. You can program it to temporarily allow a friends finger print to open your door. I am definitely going to be saving up for us a new keyless lock. It's the next thing on my "wanted" list.

I Miss My TV

You don't realize how much you appreciate until your without power for a little while. We had some terrible storms blow through here the other night and needless to say it done some damage. Over half of our town is without power and the number one complaint is not being able to watch TV. I can only imagine the Direct TV business. I had no idea that so many people had this service. I am sure they are making a lot of money and to me, it's well worth it.

Direct T V is a hot thing to have in today's times. If I only had enough money, I would love to have a DirectTV business in our area. They are booming and thanks to Hollywood, the night time TV shows just get better. I would have to say at the present time, American Idol is probably my favorite, but don't get me wrong. I watch so much TV that it's hard to name just one.

Poker Night

This past weekend we had a poker night at a friends house. It was so much fun and had been a long time since we did this. We had a large crowd. My friend said we should keep this up at least once a month. I totally agree. Most of us don't have children still at home, so it gives us something to look forward too. She informed us how and where she buys her poker supplies. I think each of the families is going to invest in some different supplies, and we can take them from house to house. Her playing cards were fresh and new, and I also think that is something we should keep on hand at all times. Nothing is worse than playing with a deck of cards that are all worn out, which is what we use to do. I know I'm going a little overboard, but once you have set around the house for several weekends doing nothing, then you would too. It gives us grown ups an exciting weekend on occasion. If you have never had a poker night with your friends, then you should definitely call them up and get one started. You would be surprised at how much funny it really can be.

Interest in Gold Coins

I think it is so neat how my uncle has this huge interest in gold coins. I think it has been a passion of his for as long as I can remember. He is constantly looking to buy gold coins. I am sure it drives my poor aunt insane, but I think it is great he has such a cool hobby.

This upcoming week he is going out of town to buy gold bullion from another man that is also into this type of gold coin hobby. I personally believe after watching my uncle that the gold ira is something all of us should consider. Maybe if we did we could be as wealthy as my uncle has become over the years.

Looking for Safety

My husband and I are strongly considering looking at Home Security Systems. We've actually been thinking about this for quite some time now. You know how you just put things off and seem to forget about this. But this past week, we read about two different houses getting broke into. This has made us realize it is time to do something about our Home Security.

I immediately starting looking into what the Best Home Security Surveillance System would be for us. We have a couple of friends who already have an ADT Home Security System, so I am almost positive that is what we will go with also. They seem to be very pleased with theirs.

My Best Friends Little Girl

This weekend I am going shopping with one of my best friends. She is needing to find her daughter some new clothes since she is growing so fast. She is always looking for designer baby clothes. I was exactly the same way when my daughter was little. I use to love shopping for jellycat. I think it was my favorite.

This is going to be exciting and bring back such old memories. I actually still have some of my own daughters clothes from when she was a baby. This one picture I have of her wearing barefoot dreams is probably my favorite picture. Alright, enough thinking of the past, I need to get ready so she won't have to be waiting on me when she gets here for a our big shopping trip.

Reviewing Films

Have you ever hear of The Film Review? It is one of the coolest sites out there today. I am constantly checking it out to see what it has to say about certain movies. It also is nice to hear about a film before you actually see it, although I have to admit sometimes I find it that the opinions I read there is different from the ones I have.

I have to give my daughter the credit for turning me on to this Film Review site. She definitely knew what she was doing when she shared the site with me. Knowing how much I read about films is what she was thinking. Now I spend hours there just reading the reviews. You should definitely check it out.

My Best Friend and Her Skin

My best friend has been thinking about microdermabrasion. I'm not nearly as familiar with it as she is. I know that the main reason she is considering it is to improve her skin tone. To be honest, I could understand why she wants this. Her skin tone has been awful for years and now she is finally making a decision to do something about it. I am excited for her and hope it turns out just the way she wants it.

My Daughter and Facebook

My daughter loves Facebook, even though she claims she can live without it. That is kind of hard for me to believe. I actually sometimes find myself being a little addicted. It's really nice to be able to socialize with your friends and family from one central location, not to mention talk to people you haven't talked to in years. I have to control myself, or I would be as addicted as her.

Planning a Baby Shower

My friend and I are going to be giving a baby shower in June, and we have decided it's time to start planning it. We know that we are going to use PartyPail to order all of our supplies, but we still haven't made a decision on the theme. I want to be able to give our friend a wonderful shower since she was in charge of mine years ago. She did an awesome job. But I have confidence that with PartyPail, we will be able to do just that. I am looking forward to this, because it is her first shower.

Well, let me give you a little hit with what business it would be. A Direct TV Business. Yes, you got it. No one wants to live now days without a TV to view.

I know there are tons of ways to be able to watch TV, but in my opinion, the DirectTV Business is probably the hottest on the market today. In case you haven't already figured it out. I don't think there is anything comparable to Commercial Direct TV. If you haven't tried it, then you should.

Finding the Perfect Gift

Well this weekend, I am on a gift hunt for my nephew. I know I will be searching for sports gifts and have no clue about what he has and what he doesn't. He loves all types of sports, so my options are pretty much open. I guess the safest thing for me to do is go shopping, and when I find something that I think he might like, I will have to call his mom to see if he already has one. I really don't know any other way to go about it. She is aware of what I am going to do, but the only problem is making sure he does not over hear our conversation. I think I will have her make me a list of some items she knows he doesn't already have, but would like to have. Any ideas out there on unique sports gifts?

I Love Readers Digest

I have always loved Readers Digest. As a child, I would pick up my mothers and find articles I enjoyed growing up. The older I got, the more I appreciated it. Still today I subscribe to this great magazine and don't think I could live without it. If I had to pick my favorite articles, I think home decor would be on top of the list. I just love anything talking about ways to dress up your house. It has always been a passion of mine. My second favorite articles are healthy living. Having Rheumatoid Arthritis has opened my eyes to trying to make my body as healthy as it can be. Anyway, if you have never purchased a Reader's Digest, then you are definitely missing out on something that is great and useful. It can be enjoyed and read by both male and female. Just the other day, my husband was really into reading about home finance in their latest issue. Now I have him hooked on their website. He likes to sit down at the computer and read all types of information, so their website works out great for him. You can find all types of great info there and it is easy to navigate. Looking for Safety Signs

We have different committees at our church, and I am on a couple of them. The safety committee is one of the less active ones, but yet is a very important one. We met last night to discuss Safety Signs. There are some construction going on right now at our church, and we feel it would be important to put up some Safety Signs. I totally agree with this and have started researched the best place to find some of these signs.

I know last year we put up a couple of Parking Signs, so I am going to check with another lady in our group to see where we purchased those. Sometimes a sign or warning is a necessary piece of information that can prevent an accident. That is the last thing we want to see happen.

Online Shopping Again Today

I spend some of my days doing online shopping. I had prefer to shop online rather than get ready to go out and fight the traffic and store crowds. It is so much more convenient and not to mention cheaper.

I have spent most of today trying to find the perfect outfit to wear to my friends spring party. A party outfit is not easy to come by these days. But I think I found one. It's a cute little cocktail dress that I think looks very spring like. I can just hear my friends now. They will all be wanting to know where I got it. I can't wait to share with them how I purchased it online.

My New Diet

I think I have tried just about every diet known to mankind. I have done all the fads, weight watchers and fat grams. Some of them I loose weight on and some of them I don't. Most of the fad diets, I give up on before I have a chance to really see if I can loose a pound. I guess it because most of them you have to eat tons of something you don't really care for. I have tried any diet pills as of yet. Don't really know which kinds to try that would be safe with the prescription medication I have to take. Anyway, I think tomorrow I am going to start off just trying to count my calories. That's seems to always be a simple diet approach. You don't have to put much thinking into the process. Wall Mounted Whitehall Mailboxes

We are in the process of searching for Whitehall Mailboxes. It seems my husband thinks we need to find a new one. The one we have is in bad shape and is desperately needing replaced. It has actually been the best mailbox we have owned, so therefore, he wants to stick with Whitehall Mailboxes.

I can't say I blame him. When you find something that works, then why not stick with it, right? After looking at them, he is leaning more toward the Wall Mounted Whitehall Mailboxes. Anyone ever owned one of those? I don't really have a problem with this kind or brand, but just thought I would get my input from others.

Helping My Daughter

Today, I spent most of my Saturday helping my daughter and a couple of her friends plan a trip to the beach. They had me looking at several different Myrtle Beach Resorts that are available during the week next month. They have been wanting to plan a trip together for quite some time now, but could get all of their schedules to work out. They "think" they finally have everything coordinated. Well, except finding some at a Myrtle Beach Resort. That is where my help was needed.

I started out first looking at Myrtle Beach Hotels, and then they informed me they would rather stay at a resort. Not that it matters to me, since I'm not paying for it anyway. I think I have found about three for them to choose from. However, they need to make a decision fairly quick or they won't be able to go at all. These places get booked up so quick that it can't be a last moment option.
